Bangkok - Vientiane - Vang Vieng - Luang Prabang

The bus journey the night after the full moon party was brutal but we survived it and ended up in Bangkok around 6am so went straight to bed to recover from a harsh 2 weeks of drinking. We spent 5 nights in the capital just chilling out really and getting ready for the final leg of our tour. Greg's brother flew out to meet us so that night was pretty heavy. We also watch the England v Wales rugby game in Bangkok and while we were there it was Vince's birthday so we went to Hard Rock Cafe again and then went to Pat Pong and experienced the ping pong and dart shows and also raced in tuk-tuks which was awesome!

We caught a bus from Bangkok to the capital of Laos, Vientiane, on August 6th.We spent a few nights there and met up with Lizzie who we met on the Kiwi Experience, and her sister Kate and friend Becky, before taking another 'short' journey up the hills to Vang Vieng where we did tubing for 3 days! This is a wicked thing to do;it's where you float down a river on an inner tube from basically a tractor tyre and stop off at the various river side bars that appear along the way down to the exit point. The 3 days we did this we returned in the dark not having a clue where to get off,and if you miss the drop off point then your done for!Everyday we got absolutely smashed and had a wicked time and met a lot of people and the group of us was big with me,Greg,Pete,Oli,Vince,Lizzie,Kate and Becky. The weather was rubbish,it rained everyday but it didn't really matter as we were on a river and already wet. This activity is the ultimate drinking experience and not many people have done it so it was great to do and I expect it will be a big thing in years to come, just like full moon partys are now.

After tubing,we went up to Luang Prabang with the sole purpose to see the Tat Kuang waterfall which was pretty amazing. It was a long way to go to see one thing but luckily it was sunny and it was our last few days with the girls before we went to Vietnam and they went to Chang Mai.At this point I was feeling very ill, probably from all the boozing being done but also from swallowing some of the dirty, horrible river water. However, what was to follow did not help!!!
