Ko Samui - Koh Phangan

We left Ko Phi Phi and stayed a night in Krabi. From here we caught a bus, which was a brutal journey, over to Surat Thani from where we got a boat over to the island of Ko Samui. We managed to get a decent place there and stayed for 2 nights and didn't really do much as it was so hot,we just kind of chilled out, went to the cinema and watched the golf Open and F1 highlights in bars.We went to meet Vince (Pete's mate) at Ko Samui airport, and after waiting there for 3 hours found out he was flying in the next day so we decided to get a boat straight to Koh Phangan.Once we got there we took a long time looking for a good place to stay as we were going to be there for 9 nights so needed somewhere comfortable and close to the action. We eventually found a place called Sea Garden Resort just off the beach, where me and Greg got a fan room and Pete and Vince got an airconditioned bungalow. Our first night we just lazed about and prepared ourselves for the carnage that was going to ensue over the next 8 nights!!!!

Basically all the nights on Koh Phangan were exactly the same.We would wake up around 2ish,go to eachothers rooms and go and get something to eat where some film or Friends or Family Guy would be on.Then we would hit the beach in the late afternoon to talent spot, catch some sun, analyze the previous nights activities and of course play beach ball.More often than not we would then go chill out in our rooms, either to watch a film or to just sleep.I would normally get restless and get everyone up to go grab some dinner at about 9ish.Then we would buy some buckets on our way back to drink while getting ready and listening to music in Pete and Vince's bungalow. We would then head out about 12ish,trawl the beach before heading to Cactus Bar,where more buckets and Bacardi Breezers would be consumed and then the rest would become a blur, but more often than not we would have a wicked night and end up with some lady friends!

The night of the full moon was absolutely brilliant,I have never seen so many people in one place before. For once I didn't really get that drunk and I think that made me enjoy it even more. There was a lot of paint going round and a few of my t-shirts got ruined but it was awesome and I ended up staying on the beach until about 8am when I decided to call it a 'night'!That was the culmination of 8 amazing nights and I think at some point in the next 18 months I will return for a bit of a lads holiday!

Ko Phi Phi

We arrived on Ko Phi Phi and found a triple room very easily which cost very little money for the 10 nights we were going to be staying there for!The first night is still a bit of a blur as we started very early in an Irish bar and finished very late in Hippies bar,but it was good as we checked most places out.It was also our first experience of buckets which are amazing and consist of Samsong (Thai whiskey/rum),Red Bull syrup and then coke and sprite and they get you smashed!!!!My abiding memory is me and Greg getting back to our locked room to find Pete asleep on the floor in the hallway! The first night kind of set the standard for the rest of our time there, although we did start drinking in our room before going out and we would not go out before midnight as most nights would finish around 7am.During the days our activities would be limited to sleeping, going on the beach to read, sunbathe and play beach ball (which me and Greg are amazing at) and also eating, when more often than not we would catch a film or 2 in the bar or restuarant.

So Ko Phi Phi was absolutely amazing and very beautiful. We did the tour of the surrounding islands and went to where 'The Beach' was filmed and that was awesome, although the tide was out so didn't look as impressive as it should have done!We met a lot of cool people, mainly a Dutch girl called Mieke who lived across the balcony from us and she was a legend and came out with us for most nights (although pretty much passed out one night). We also met up with Paul, one of Greg's mates from back home, and his girlfriend Helen and so got pretty drunk with them, along with Helen's mates.Got in a couple of 'fights' after some German guy slammed a stool on my foot and when some Swiss guy tried to rape an Irish girl I was with,so we were doing all we could to keep up good international relations! And of course there were girls, lots and lots of girls........................

Singapore - Kuala Lumpur - Perhentian Islands

So we flew from Cairns (via Darwin) to Singapore and stayed there for a couple of nights in the Little India part of town.It was so hot there, the hottest I have experienced so far,so we didn't really do a lot.We went to the Changi Prison Museum and walked around town but that was about it,although we did ride on the best public transport system I have ever been on!From there we caught a train upto Kuala Lumpur which was a long and sweaty journey.Whilst we were there we went to the Petronas Towers which were absolutely massive and awesome, ate in the Hard Rock Cafe for about 7 quid each and walked around the markets and resisted the temptation to buy a fake Rolex and other knocked off stuff! After staying there for a couple of days we moved on upto the Perhentian Islands just off the east coast of mainland Malaysia for a bit of chill out time.We stayed on the smaller island, Kecil, which had much nicer beaches than the larger one.It was very hot there so we spent some time on the beach but most of the time it was just unbearable,so we just ate, watched films (and the Wimbledon finals) and read a lot.Next stop was Thailand, where we walked across the border then got a train to Hat Yai then a bus to Krabi from where we would be leaving to get a boat to Ko Phi Phi.
