San Diego - Las Vegas - National Parks
Once we arrived in San Diego we all loved it straight away.It was a lot smaller than LA,so it was quieter, cleaner and hassle free, and apparently it has a perfect year round climate. We stayed in the same hostel for 4 nights, which was right in the centre of town so was a great platform to do what we wanted. We went to SeaWorld on the Monday(12/03) which was amazing;we saw the dolphin show, flipped off some seals and went to the aquiriums...the only down side was getting the sun burnt.Had a wicked night in a bar called Whisky Girls which became our local,it was 80s night and we dominate the dance floor!Had a pretty lazy day the next day,I just walked around the city on my own which was nice to be alone for some me time, got very lost but was fascinated by the city.Went out again that night and blagged ourselves into some good clubs. The next day we drove to Las Vegas, which took about 6 hours. We went straight to Greg's relatives before getting a hotel on the strip. The bar here was dirt cheap so me and Greg got hammered and just mucked about in the casino.Spoke to a lot of college girls as it was spring break, their easy to talk to but sealing the deal could be a tough nut to crack!Although of course I shall persist in the quest! The next couple of days were spent at Sue and Joe's,Greg's relatives...they had a lovely house with pool, lots of drink and food so it was good to just chill out and sunbathe. We watched a lot of basketball and went to the Hoover Dam which was unbelievable. The weather was so hot, hitting 85F at 11in the morning everyday! For Greg's birthday we went shopping for smart clothes to go out in and I finally found some sunglasses so my retinas will no longer fry in the sun!Had an awesome BBQ at Sue and Joe's before heaing out.The night was a bit disappointing because it was a sat night in Vegas and you need pure money to make an impact, although we still had fun but in the end retired to our hotel.Went to the Hard Rock Cafe in the morning for some brilliant food before returning to Sue and Joe's to chill out.Las Vegas is a great place but when your travelling its tough,I'd love to go back with a lot of money to really enjoy it!On Monday(19/03) we started heading North towards Reno.We drove to the Grand Canyon but couldn't afford the tours which was a bit disappointing but we still saw some of it.The rest of the day was spent driving before spening the night in Lone Pine. The next day was pretty much the same, with some more mountainous driving, especially at Sequira National Park where we went to see the largest tree in the world,General Sherman. It was 7000ft up,so was snowing heavily which was wierd after being in the desert.Again the next day was spent driving, and I felt ill because I was in the back being thrown about on the winding roads.Spent the night in Fresno which was about 150 miles south of Reno. Finally made it to Reno yesterday and have decided to chill out here for 2 days before going to San Fran for 5 days.Having a wicked time, spending a fair bit of money but its worth it.Sexual fustration is at a peak, really getting the horn so going to have to sort it out!
